Karen Davies-Hough

CEO and Founder


Karen is a qualified Teacher, Social Worker, Accredited BACP Counsellor and UKCP Registered Psychotherapist. She has been practicing counselling since 1991, working in a G.P. practice and from 1996 as a Stress Counselor for the local authority. Karen has been a representative on the Psychotherapeutic Counselling Section of the UKCP, and was a member of the UKCP Psychotherapy with Children’s Committee. She is currently the Treasurer and Board member of EIATCYP, and is the lead trainer on the Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling with Children.Her approach is Integrative, working with both children and adults.Karen works to the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy code of ethics, and is a BACP Accredited Counselor and UKCP Registered Integrative Psychotherapist.Karen’s area of specialization include:- Play Therapy for Children ,Personal Counselling, Family Work ,Personal Growth Therapy, Stress,Trauma, Abuse, Attachment, Adoption Issues, Bereavement, Relationship Problems, Sexual Orientation, Supervision and Training for adults and children.


    Sheila Dixon.

    Psychotherapeutic Counsellor


    Sheila is a BACP Accredited Counsellor who works with adults, adolescents and children offering both long and short term counselling. She has extensive experience in both NHS work and private

    practice working with a wide range of presenting issues. Sheila has a background in youth and community work and working in supporting parents struggling with the demands of raising their families.
    Sheila has a Diploma in Supervision and is able to offer supervision for those working with adults or children either in groups or with individuals. Sheila’s approach is Person Centred-Gestalt, and Integrative

    In her spare time Sheila likes to either potter in the garden or walk the dales, at less energetic times reading a good book is a favourite pastime.


      Bill Waistell


      Bill has been practicing Counselling since 1990. He trained in marriage and relationships with Marriage Care, a National relationship organisation. Since 1991 Bill has been working in G.P’s surgeries as well as maintaining a private practice.

      Bill abides by the BACP Ethical Framework and TACT’s Code of Ethics and he has a Diploma in Humanistic Counselling, his approach is Gestalt and he also uses Transactional Analysis in his work.Bill also has a Diploma in Supervision and is able to offer group and individual supervision to practising counsellors and professionals in the helping professions.Bill works with a variety of issues and has a specialism in Stress, Anxiety, Depression. Bereavement,Grief and Loss. Trauma. Relationships. Sexual Dysfunction. Anger and Conflict. Effects of Domestic Violence. Abuse – physical, emotional and sexual. Guilt. Change and transitions.Dreams and Nightmares.


        Elaine Love


        Elaine is an experienced therapist able to work with a broad range of presenting issues and difficulties. Elaine works in a relational way and also specialises in short term therapy in “Learning to Work with People”. Elaine also use C.B.T as an intervention strategy where necessary.

        Elaine works with individuals and couples, and also offers Supervision to other trained professionals.. Elaine works to the BACP code of ethics, and is a BACP Registered Senior Accredited Counsellor


          Sue Erskine


          Sue completed a five year training program in counselling and Gestalt Psychotherapy in 2007.She has been working in private practise since 2004 and also for the NHS since 2006. Sue has also enjoyed over ten year experience working as a registered Shiatsu Practitioner.

          Sue works to the UKCP code of ethics, and is a UKCP Registered PsychotherapistSue’s training has been in Contemporary Gestalt, which is phenomenological, developmental and relational in its approach. Sue works in a number of areas such as stress, anxiety, depression, lack of confidence, relationship difficulties, abuse, childhood unhappiness, bereavement and other losses


            John DeaconSONY DSC

            John is an accredited UKCP Psychotherapist who is in private practice in Malton and  Scarborough and works with young people in a secondary school in East Yorkshire.   He is presently in  the process of completing a conversion course in Psychotherapuetic Counselling with Children at TACT,  where he is  also undertaking  Supervision training and the Associate Teaching Membership programme.

            John’s background is teaching and management in schools and colleges. He works relationally with adults and children on a wide range of issues
